Hello, I'm Sebastiaan - a freelancer in the field of aviation, based in Germany.

I have a background in pilot training from Flight Training Europe (FTEJerez) and a B.Sc. in Aviation Logistics from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.

This allows me to combine practical insights from flight training with a solid technical background. After approximately 10 years working at leading consultancies such as NACO and ARC/CAST, I nowadays suppport clients in the areas listed in this portfolio.

  • ADS-B tracks analysis and visualisation (airspace operational assessments)
  • Support development of windfarm projects through quantification of air traffic frequencies in defined areas, at night phases, etc.

Airport Meteo Analyses

  • Supporting airside maintenance studies, identify phasing for construction works
  • RWY usability factors (crosswind + tailwind limits) and windroses
  • IMC/VMC quantification according to EASA SERA, UK SERA, ICAO or local regulations

Airspace & RWY Capacity

  • RWY capacity envelopes - static calculation of runway capacity
  • Airspace IFP and RWY dynamic fast-time simulations - validation of capacity figures and detailing of pertaining operational performance (delay, track miles flown, etc)
  • Visualising unforeseen infra / IFP bottlenecks not apparent from static calculations
  • Clarify the impact of alterations in RWY configurations and instrument flight procedures (IFP)

Software & Database Development

  • DDFS Generator (ddfsgenerator.com), a software for the automated creation of design day flight schedules (DDFS)
  • Create DDFS within minutes, based on user input stemming from the traffic forecast and peak vs offpeak developments
  • Consideration of "organic growth" through load factor increases, aircraft upgauging and fleet modernisation through internal databases
  • New flights (destinations) and airlines identified using a matching algorithm to fit the local airport profile
  • Development of datasets in the field of airline fleets, aircraft performance, etc.
